Painter. Born: October 2, 1816, Dordrecht. Died: March 30, 1875, Dordrecht. Place and period of activity: Dordrecht, from 1831 to 1875.

Known as an excellent master of seascapes. Notes of subtle romanticism, intertwined with sincere love for the plots depicted by the artists, prevail in his work.
