Zoran Kwak
Vasily has been working as a restorer for over 20 years and owns two workshops.
He founded his first painting restoration studio in 2007, working at the Museum Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn (also known as Apeldoorn National Museum), where he worked on the restoration of the palace’s collection, as well as objects of other Dutch museums located in the palace on a leasehold basis.
He actively cooperates with private foundations and collectors.
Vasily Khudyakov works following the ethical standards established by the European Confederation of Conservative Restoration Organizations (E.C.C.O.). Therefore, the intervention is always carried out for the sake of serving the object, and most restoration activities are reversible.
Vasily's artistic style combines traditional methods obtained at the Academy of Arts, the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg, and the methods of the European school of painting.
Dr. Zoran Kwak works as a researcher, art consultant, and teacher at the Mercury Institute of Fine Arts in Leiden.
In 2014, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Art History (Hons) from the University of Amsterdam with a dissertation on the Northern Dutch Kitchen Scenes of the Golden Age.
He has worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Art History (NIKI) in Florence, Leiden University, University of Amsterdam, and HOVO Nederland.
Now successfully specializes in early modern painting “Lage Landen” and interaction between the Netherlands and Italy.
Zoran Kwak works for both private clients and museum institutions such as Mauritshuis, Den Haag, Museum van Loon, Amsterdam, Lakenhal, Leiden.
